In class, students viewed the film Glory. No class on Monday (Feef @ J3 race). On Tuesday, groups will perform skits (including Corinne!) and we will continue watching Glory.

Tuesday, January 15th

In class on Tuesday, students completed outlines and organized skits on the lives of freedmen during Reconstruction and the battles between Pres. Johnson and Congress. Skits will be performed in class on Thursday.

In class on Monday, students worked on pictorial time lines covering 8-10 events from the First Battle of Bull Run to the surrender at Appomattox Court House. Five images must be drawn.

In class on Thursday, we reviewed the major battles of the Civil War from 1861-1863. The Emancipation Proclamation and the Gettysburg Address were also discussed. Students received and read aloud a copy of the Gettysburg Addrress.

first shots fired at Ft Sumter
Lincoln's suspension of liberties
Jefferson Davis' struggle to unite the Confederacy
